Consilio

Consilio is CarbX’s service - powered by proprietary software - that facilitates early-stage Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) pathway design, development, and scoping.

It enables an EmitCo to originate, structure, and de-risk carbon capture and storage pathways where technical feasibility, commercial logic, and stakeholder alignment must be established concurrently. Consilio applies CarbX’s Activation Finance principles to translate early technical concepts into an initial, investable CCS pathway configuration. It also models the evaluation of alternative strategies as information changes and pathways are modified.

The Consilio process focuses on defining the overall architecture of a CCS pathway rather than advancing isolated assets. This includes describing how capture sources, transport infrastructure, and storage solutions can be coherently assembled into a commercially viable, financeable system aligned with stakeholder objectives. Throughout this process, technical options are assessed alongside commercial constraints, ensuring that pathway design decisions reflect how the system is expected to operate in practice.

The output of the Consilio process is a clearly structured early-stage CCS pathway design, defined at a level sufficient to support investment discussions, stakeholder engagement, and policy or funding interfaces - while remaining adaptable as the pathway matures. This early pathway is not treated as a fixed end-state. Instead, it is designed to be progressively refined as additional technical data becomes available, commercial assumptions are tested, and stakeholder requirements evolve.

Consilio produces a CCS pathway model that can be interrogated, modified, justified, and expanded in response to changes in information, strategy, and the external environment. It creates a portfolio of decisions that can be analyzed and easily communicated, with justification supported by a recorded history of prior opinions and assessments.
